As the capital city of Australia, Canberra has a wealth of history and beauty for visitors to see. See the famous Parliament House, where the rambunctious Australian government conducted the country’s business for over 50 years. The Museum of Science and Technology are located near the southern side of the city, and are proud to have had a telescope there for over 100 years. Questacon is another science museum, but with talking robots and even an earthquake stimulator visitors can get a new appreciation for science and technology. The War Memorial is located on Treloar Crescent, and serves as a monument and museum to Australia’s fighting men and women. Anyone visiting Canberra, must take the trip to the top of Black Mountain Tower. The tower sits an impressive 195 meters above the mountain and gives visitors a clear view of the entire city. Have a bite to eat at the local café, and visit the gift shop before heading back down the mountain. Australia is home to a wide variety of native plants and flowers, with Canberra being considered the bush capital. This makes for some of Australia’s most beautiful parks. The Australian National Botanical Gardens has something for everyone to enjoy. Visitors can enjoy the parks trails, lakes, nature hikes, and see a large variety of native Australian flowers. See the large slivery protea bloom in the shaded areas of the rainforest, and gaze in delight at the large fields of gerbera daisies. Other surprises in the National Botanical Gardens also include several native species of rock lilies and dendrobium orchids. The Namadqi National Park covers more than half of the Canberra Territory. As part of the Australian Alps, visitors are treated to fields of crocus and tulips in the spring. The Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve, also gives visitors a chance to glimpse delicate woodland orchids in the park’s separated forested areas. If you have fallen in love with these and other native blooms, we will happily deliver a beautiful bouquet to almost any address in Canberra.
