Luxor is the name of a delightful city in modern Egypt. It is located in the south, or Upper, part of the country. There are over a half of a million people in the city of Luxor and it covers just less than 420 square kilometres of area. It is so beautiful to see that tourists commonly pay a tour guide to take them in a small plane or a hot air balloon over the west bank to see the ancient sights. There are temples and statues, and many lovely palm trees. Occasionally, you can actually see a palm flower, but for the most part the scenery is either dry and desert like, or it is very obviously irrigated regularly.

The Raspberry Creamsicle Luxor Rose is a spectacularly beautiful flower, but it most obviously does not come from the Egyptian city of Luxor. The desert around the city of Luxor makes it pretty clear that someone has decided on the name for this rose without visiting Egypt. Well, perhaps they did visit, and it was the colours of the sunsets and sunrises near Luxor that inspired the name of the rose. The rose itself is really described pretty accurately with the Raspberry Creamsicle part of its name though. It is dark pink on the edges with a tint of orange as each petal joins the centre of the flower. The Luxor part of the name doesn’t add much in the way of description, so it is hard to know why this fabulous rose has been name this way.

The Raspberry Creamsicle Luxor Rose may not be from Luxor, and Luxor may not grow much in the way of flowers, but both are beautiful.
