The city of Muenster is known for its history and especially its old towers that dominate the city. The Munster Cathedral is perhaps the prettiest historic religious building in Muenster, and the city hall is equally as impressive. Even the shopping areas are steeped in history, with Prinzipalmarkt offering stunning architecture as well as first class shopping. The church of Lamberti is absolutely spectacular, and when you have had enough of architecture head on over to the State Museum of Art and Cultural History. If you are travelling with children then the zoo is worth a look, or perhaps the Westfälisches Museum für Naturkunde will keep them entertained on a rainy day.
