By far the best thing to do in Moriguchi, especially for flower lovers, is to take a visit to the Tsurumi Ryokuchi Park, which is a former host of the International Greenery Exposition and boasts a huge array of tulips, vibrant azaleas and fragrant roses depending on the season. As with many parks in Japan, the cherry tree blossom viewings that take place in the spring can be viewed here, with almost 2500 cherry trees making for an awesome sight. Make sure to visit the arboretum or you will miss this display! Further afield, just thirty minutes’ drive from Moriguchi lies the beautiful Aramaki Rose Garden. With over ten thousand roses and some refreshing fountains, this park is a hit with families and lovers. Finally, about 15 minutes from Moriguchi is the Expo 70 Commemorative Park which is a splendid cherry blossom viewing spot in the spring months – the evenings are a great time to visit as the trees are dressed up with lights and look simply spectacular.
