Kalanchoe and hoya flowers are abundant in Butuan City.
A native from Madagascar, Africa, and the Americas, the kalanchoe is a type of succulent flowering plant found in 1763 by Michael Andanson, a botanist. The kalanchoe is related to the jade plant, and they come in the form of shrubs, perennials, and annuals. The tallest kalanchoe is at 20 ft tall found in Madagascar, and the flowers may occur in yellow, pink, and red. Hoya flowers are also called wax flowers because of their waxy makeup. They are a cluster of flowers in one stem and may come as star-shaped or triangular-shaped petals.There are around 200 - 300 species of hoyas and they are scattered all over Asia. They attract ants, bees and moths as pollinators. The University of Georgia’ research has proven that these flowers are good are cleaners, so it’s a great idea to have them indoors. Some species, however, are toxic to particular types of animals.
