To see this UNESCO world heritage sight at its best be sure to hire a bike and hit one of the many cycle paths early in the morning or later in the evening when the hustle and bustle of the day is over.
Along the route there are restaurants,cafes and bars aplenty serving Alsatian white wine to accompany a delicious meal of local fish. Visit the gothic cathedral of Notre Dame De Strasbourg, a most impressive feat of architecture and engineering built during the middle ages. The Musee Alsacien is a most interesting museum where one can see the differences in culture between France and Alsace. No visit to Strasbourg would be complete without seeing the European Parliament where visitors are welcome to see how it functions and to learn more about this important historical institution. After a busy day of sight seeing why not relax and unwind in one of the city’s beautiful parks and gardens. Wander through the majestic arboretum of the Botanical Garden in the Imperial quarter and check out the giant Sequoia and pecan tree. Another garden in which to take some well deserved down time is the Jardinet Gothique Du Musee de L’Oeuvre Notre Dame. This delightful little place provides a welcome oasis of calm amongst its many ancient, ornamental and medicinal plants and luscious herb garden.
