Thunder Bay is a great place to explore. The biggest city in the area and located on the Lake Superior, there is plenty to do and one of the most popular. Head up to the Terry Fox memorial for the best views of the surrounding area and check out the whole of the city at your feet. You can take a hike up the Current River Greenway - these trails are the best places to spot wildflowers and native plants. You will simply marvel in awe at the sheer grandeur of the landscape here - it is indescribable. The natural attractions are great, but that does not mean the city center of Thunder Bay should be overlooked. There are some good museums here as well as interesting churches to explore. Head to the Historical museum to check out the local history of the area. For flower lovers, Centennial park is a nice place to explore, walking around the trails will reward with beautiful blooms. The Centennial Conservatory is another great place to check out flowers and has a few great greenhouses with lots of different tropical and exotic plants and flowers. Check out the cacti here - they are cool. If you want to see some wildflowers when in Thunderbay then all of Ontario's native wildflowers are within easy reach. These include alfalfa, bee balm and blazing star. These, amongst others such as the bloodroot and bur marigolds, can be seen all along the walking trails in the spring months and make for excellent photo opportunities. Don't forget to bring your camera with you when you are heading out on a wildflower trail in Thunderbay and beyond - some of them do not bloom for very long so you will want to snap up a picture before they leave for another year!
