For flower lovers, Karlsruhe and the surrounding area does not disappoint. Stadtgarten is a favorite for locals and visitors alike - there are nearly one thousand trees here as well as fifteen thousand beautiful fragrant roses which are simply spectacular when in full bloom in the summer. The nearby Botanical Gardens feature all the usual plants and flowers you would expect, as well as cacti and other exotic species such as orchids and bamboo. The grounds of the Botanic Gardens are a pleasant place to explore, but if that is not enough never worry, there is plenty more on offer for the flower lover in Karlsruhe. The nearby Palace Gardens offer stunning flowers for viewing, as well as a painting exhibition dedicated to the history of flowers in the palace. And, if you are still not satisfied why not take a trip out of the city to the Schwetzingen Castle and enjoy the fabulous cherry trees on display in April in the castle grounds. The park also has well-tended flower beds and hedges as well as lovely fountains and ponds, making it a lovely place for an afternoon stroll.
Karlsruhe may be often overlooked by many on a trip to Germany, but there are plenty of attractions for those who are willing to make the effort to visit. Karlsruhe is known as a cultural hub in Germany, and it is therefore no surprise that there are plenty of museums and theatres to discover for those who visit. Check out the City Museum to start, or perhaps visit a more specialist museum - there is a Legal History Museum for example, the Museum of Natural History and a Porcelain Museum, as well as several art galleries. The Baden State Theatre is found here, as well as a puppet theatre amongst others.
