Located in the north of the state of Kentucky, you will find the small town of Visalia within Kenton County. Formerly a city, it was dissolved last 2006. Visalia was named after a man called Nathaniel Vise.
Despite the small size ot the town, there are great places to tour around. Come and visit Devou Park, a park that is over 700 acres in size. Enjoy the beautiful open spaces as you walk around the golf course, the different playgrounds where you can set up picnic with your friends and family, and through the beautiful trails. While you are there, you can stop by the museum, known as the Behringer Crawford Museum, where you can discover the culture and history of the people from the north of Kentucky.
Try visiting Doe Run Lake Park, a 183-acre park, with a beautiful view of the 30-acre lake. It is a great place to go fishing, boat ramping and hiking.
With all the beautiful parks around, come and check out the native flowers that grow in the area. Here, you will find perennials such as the Royal Catchfly. These flowers have red blooms with five, thin petals. Enjoy walking around the park with the coneflowers. You will find purple coneflowers and sweet coneflowers around the parks.
