The diameter of the metal fruit is approximately 5 feet. The author of the monument is the famous Russian sculptor Viacheslav Mykhailovysh Klykov who unveiled it in 2004.
The popularity of the Antonovka variety is explained by the quality of a harvest and the fact that only the Antonovka’s tree sustains harsh winters in Eastern Europe remaining unharmed in early spring.
