Cardiff is a great city to explore, with a plethora of interesting historical sights coupled with a vibrant nightlife and great shopping. A fantastic indoor market is one of the best places to soak up the atmosphere, as are the Victorian era shopping arcades. For museum buffs, the National Museum and Art Gallery is a great place to explore, and history fans will be delighted with Cardiff Castle. In the spring, the castle is dotted with row upon row of vibrant daffodils celebrating the national flower of Wales. Cardiff is also host to the RHS Flower Show Cardiff. Held in Bute Park, the show offers stunning exhibits including massive displays of daffodils amongst other arrays of flowers. The magnolia trees are one of the best sights in Bute Park in spring with their beautiful blossoms. If you are unable to make the show and are visiting at a different time, Bute Park is still a worthwhile place to visit. There are over three thousand different tree species in the park, as well as a stunning herbaceous border with wonderful collections of plants. Elsewhere in the city, Grange Gardens has a beautiful if not large collection of plants and flowers which look wonderful in the spring sunshine.
