Wagga Wagga is a city for outdoor lovers, with an abundance of outdoor attractions on offer. There are however also plenty of other indoor activities to do here as well, including visiting a number of museums and art galleries. The Wagga Wagga Art Gallery is worth a stop and has an interesting glass exhibition. There is also a fabulous aviation museum which will satisfy those curious about aviation history and developments. Visitors to Wagga Wagga also like to check out a variety of local markets, including Markets By the Lake which is held on selected Saturdays, and the Riverina Producer's Market which sells fresh fruit and cut flowers. Speaking of flowers, the flower lover also has plenty to see in Wagga Wagga. First stop on a floral tour should be the Wagga Wagga Botanic Garden which spans a huge area and offers plenty of sights and attractions to keep the whole family entertained. The Botanic Gardens are known for their beautiful themed gardens. The Rose Garden is one such section, and there is also a Cactus Garden as well as one entirely filled with camellias. There is a little train here and a play park, so the kids can be kept entertained as well. The city is also home to the Victory Memorial Gardens which is a tribute to those who fell in the first world wall. This beautifully landscaped garden has well tended flower beds and fountains and is a pleasant take in which to take a stroll with family and friends, or perhaps sit quietly and contemplate. If you fancy a bit more of a wild flower experience rather than formal arrangements, head out of town to the Livingstone National Park and State Conservation Area. This is a thirty kilometer drive away but is worth it if you are a flower lover as you will see over sixty different species of plants and is a great place at which to spend a day with the family.
