كيتاكيوشو الزهور

Kitakyūshū is an old industrial city with a vibrant heart. The Moji Port area is a pleasant place to stroll in the evening with a cool vibe and lots of restaurants, and the Kokura Castle is a reconstructed castle which makes for an interesting place to explore. As far as flowers are concerned, Kitakyūshū also offers perhaps some of the best examples of gorgeous wisteria for which the area is famous. Here, there is a flower garden dedicated purely to wisteria, with a tunnel stretching over two hundred feet that is simply covered in this beautiful purple flower! The garden is called Kawachi Fujien and boasts a wisteria tree that is over a century old, so if you are in the Fukuoka Prefecture you absolutely have to visit here to get some stunning photographs. Those still on the lookout some green space and perhaps to view some flowers and shrubs in Shimonoseki should head up to Mount Hinoyama. Here, visitors to the summit will find the beautiful Hinoyama Park with its fabulous views and wonderful displays of flowers. In the spring, the park is awash with color as the cherry blossoms and rhododendrons are in full bloom. The Tulip Garden here is home to over forty thousand wonderful tulips which, when in bloom, are a wonderful sight to behold for any flower lover. Finally, nearby Fukuoka is also a flower lovers’ paradise the old castle a favorite spot for many during the spring months who love to see the cherry blossoms in their full glory. The park around the castle is called Maizuru Park and is the local’s port of call for the tradition of hanami - watching the blossoms fall to the ground whilst eating a picnic. There are other areas too in Fukuoka, the Atago shrine being another, as is the Nishi Park which also boasts some pleasant flowers amongst the cherry trees.
