Ulan-Ude Fiori Fiorista

Buryatia is an untamed land. There are still places when hardly anyone of all the living drops by more often than once a year. So, It is somewhat curious to get to know that Ulan-Ude is the administrative center with a population of about 400 000 people. But consider the area of Buryatia which is 351 300 square kilometers. In comparison, the whole of Germany’s area is just slightly larger – 357 021 square kilometers.
Ulan-Ude is 100 kilometers southeast of Baikal, the world’s deepest and clearest lake. Despite its crystal beauty, Tunkinskiy National park is always a highlight with crowds of tourists and travelers. It covers a hilly region centered on the Irkhut River.
Being a bio-diversed park, it contains species from the Mongolian Steppe and the Siberia Taiga. 42 endemic species from there were recorded in the Red Book of the Russian Federation as endangered. Its surrounding land is abundant with wild berries like cranberry, huckleberry, honeysuckle, raspberry etc. Snow melts by June making way for the tender blooms. The flowers of the Tunkinskiy park have but less than three months to thrive. At this time its ground surface becomes yellow due to countless blossoming iceland poppies. But nothing lasts forever. And the poppies are followed by the flaming buds of bluebells, lilies, and cornflowers.
