There is a healthy collection of tropical plants to be found here, with over five thousand different plants, trees and flowers on display, including many endangered shrubs and other greenery from the region. The Botanic Flower Gardens runs “seeding fairs” in the spring and autumn during which members of staff are on hand to give advice on which shrubs and perennials are best suited to the local climate. There are also over two hundred and fifty types of fruit trees and berry plants and an additional area dedicated to medicinal plants, which currently has nine species growing there. Take some time to stroll around the grounds and enjoy the scenery, perhaps stopping to take a few photos along the way.
