Disuq city is located a short drive from the beautiful port city of Alexandria and is situated in the Kafr El Sheikh province.The town’s proximity to Alexandria means that the attractions of the famous city are within very easy reach. If you are based in Disuq or Alexandria during your stay in Egypt and are getting a bit tired of the heat and city, seek shelter from the sun and head straight to Montazah Gardens. A veritable oasis in modern day Alexandria, the beautifully tended palace gardens offer shade amongst lush palms and colourful flowers, and there is even a little beach at the end. The gardens are the best place to seek solace from the noise and goings on in modern day Alexandria, and are a favourite place for locals and tour groups alike to take a stroll amongst its beautiful plants and flowers. Unfortunately, the palace is not open for visitors but the gardens more than make up for it and are an excellent spot for people watching. The city of Alexandria also has a Botanic Garden run by the botany team at the University, and features an interesting collection of cacti, palm trees and ferns.
