Six beautiful gardens in one park! Akebonoyama Park in Kashiwa features a Japanese garden, a large well tended ancient temple, a Sakura forest, a Danish flower garden and the lovely park area itself.
Each season the park has a different feel. In spring of course there are the cherry blossoms in the Sakura forest. Later in the spring there is a real tulip festival, reminiscent of those held in Holland. It is all very picturesque with the windmill model in the background of the rainbow of tulip colours.
This is not really a tourist attraction, aside from the temple for some, but it is a great escape from the city and a way to get some relaxation and fresh air. Families enjoy picnics y the ponds and couples will find many sweet photo ops to post to their Instagram accounts.
The summer showcases the sunflowers as the temperatures start to climb. The Japanese garden is always a sight to behold in the summer season. It is worth the bus ride to get there, taking a car is just not a good idea. Too much traffic and no parking makes the bus, even though it is likely a bit crowded too, a better plan.
Poppy flowers pop up unexpectedly in every corner creating a most unexpected delight in this small town park in Kashiwa.
