Ogaki is probably best known for its’beautiful replica castle and the interesting museum of art. For those that love to explore parks and to see flowers in Ogakithe pleasant gardens of the nearby history museum are also worth taking a look at. The nearby banks of the Gojo River in Komaki are a great place to stroll, especially during cherry blossom season – make sure to enjoy the reflection of the pink blossoms in the water as you walk by. Shimin Shiki No Mori park is also an excellent place to explore, and is especially vibrant when the hydrangeas are at their most colourful. A visit to Gifu is also great day trip from Ogaki - Gifu Park for example has an interesting array of plants and flowers, and of course the nation’s beloved cherry trees! This park is also host to the Chrysanthemum Flower show with its’ beautifully decorated chrysanthemum dolls and gorgeous fountain adorned with flowers on either side– an absolute must see in Gifu if you are in the city in late autumn. If that is not enough, a visit to nearby Ichinomiya and the beautiful 138 Tower Park during the spring is definitely in order – the cherry blossoms on display here are truly marvellous. During the year, 138 Tower Park also boasts stunning displays of over four thousand roses in its rose garden, as well as beautiful arrangements of poppies and tulips.
