Famed for its pottery and ceramic industry, Seto has a lot of festivals and events throughout the year celebrating its production of dishes and plates. The city walls themselves are even kitted out in ceramics and mosaics, making for a lovely sight. There are plenty of museums in Soto showcasing the important industry, and you could easily spend a day exploring the history of ceramics here. About a 15 minute drive from Setolie the attractions of Yokosuka, and those who love flowers will not be lost for things to do. Kurihama Flower Park is a great place to stop if you want to check out some of the beautiful flowers in Yokosuka. If you are lucky enough to be in Japan during spring you will be rewarded with a stunning display of poppies, and might be lucky enough to catch the poppy festival, whereas visitors in autumn can take in the cosmos. A flower train also transports guests around the park! Verny Park is another excellent place to see the flowers in Yokosuka – there is even a local phrase dedicated to the very act of looking at flowers - O-hanami! Traditional cherry blossoms make a stunning display here in spring, but Verny Park is best known for its beautiful rose gardens. If you want to join the Rose Fest in Yokosuka you’ll need to visit in spring or autumn to see over one hundred different varieties of roses! Yokosuka is very easily reached from Seto, and makes for an excellent day trip.
