In 1594 on the bank of the river Ob was founded the ancient Russian city of Surgut. In Surgut, they are called Siberian orchids. Excellent took root in the city wild lilies with large orange or red flowers. The frost-resistant varieties of hydrangeas and roses also took root. Recently in Surgut on numerous flower beds of the city were planted about 320 thousand flowers.
