Be sure to visit the area in the spring when the Fuji Shibazakura festival is in full swing. The beautiful shibazakura flowers (or phlox) are in full bloom and can be seen at their best at the beginning of May. The blossoms in varying shades of pink, white and purple form vast fields of color and are a delight to behold. Discover the “Heavenly Flower Fields” in the foothills of Mt Fuji which are a blanket of blossoming tulips in the spring and awash with the colors of dahlias in summer and autumn.
