Anjo is also located near to Toyota city. Whilst not a tourist destination in its own right, Anjo has some interesting sights and things to see. Those who appreciate the Japanese pastime of cherry blossom viewing or “Hanami” will be delighted with a trip to Anjo Park in the spring months. Here, the cherry blossom festival which is held annually is a feast for the eyes, with a gorgeous pond acting like a mirror for the reflection of the dainty cherry blossoms. In the evenings, lanterns and fairy lights light up the trees making for an even more magical experience. Nearby, the city of Toyota offers the flower lover some additional pleasures – the city is host to the annual Wisteria Festival, and a visit during this period will allow you to witness the fabulous displays of azalea draping along the pavements and roads. A walk down Wisteria Alley is an absolute must if you want to really experience this. Interestingly, the Toyota factory has tried to offset some of its emissions created in the manufacturing process by developing its own flowers, derived from the cherry sage and gardenia in an attempt to help reduce its impact on the environment.
