Kanazawa Fiori Fiorista

Kanazawa-shi is a fabulous place to explore and offers visitors a fantastic overview of life in the local area. Check out a geisha performance at the Chaya District, which also features a number of interesting traditional tea houses, or visit the Ninjadera temple. Nagamachi is the old samuri area which is a great place to wander around in, and the Saisonkaku Villa offers a splendid glimpse of architecture. If you have had enough of history after these sights then head to the 21st Century Museum for a drop of modernity during your visit. Elsewhere, you may want to take in some of the wonderful parks and gardens in Kanazawa-shi. Kenrokuen is one such park which also features some beautiful landscaping as well as gorgeous bushes and flowering shrubs. In early spring the plum blossoms are out in full force here before the traditional cherry blossoms for which Japan is famous take over. Then, as autumn approaches the flowers disappear and the area is replaced with beautiful colors of red, orange and brown and makes for a pleasant stroll. For the best cherry blossom viewing in Kanazawa-shi however, head to Kanazawa Castle for not only the blooms of four hundred cherry trees but also to see them spectacularly lit up at night for all to enjoy.
