Kurashiki Fiori Fiorista

Just outside Okayama lies Kurashiki. The beautiful canal side stores are simply gorgeous and offer a real sense of history to all who visit. The Ohara Museum is worth a visit too if you want to learn even more about Kurashiki’s past. Nearby Okayama-shi is full of interesting attractions and things to do as well. Korakuen Garden is a great spot to visit in the city and contains beautiful landscaped gardens, ponds and gorgeous cherry trees which are a delight to view in the spring months. Those who like to be active should take a bike ride along the Kibi Plain for the best wildflower views in the area, whilst history buffs should visit the local Okayama Castle to learn a bit more about the area and history of the castle in the city. A thirty minute drive away lies Fukuyama which is celebrated in Japan for its great yearly Rose Festival every spring. The rose is Fukuyama’s city flower, and locals have been decorating the town since WWII in a bid to make it a delight for the senses. There are thousands of this delicious flower on display during the festival, and you may even be lucky enough to see the Fukuyama rose in all its glory.
