Kashihara Fiori Fiorista

Just 20 minutes from Nara lies Kashihara-shi. Known for being a transport hub and home to the Kashihara-Jingu shrine, those visiting Kashihara will find it a good base to explore the beautiful Nara region. If you want to check out some of the flowers in Nara then a good place to start is the Manyo Botanical Garden. This oasis features stunning floral and plant displays throughout the year, however the best views come from the burst of color from the cherry blossoms and vibrant violet clusters in the spring. In the early summer you will be rewarded with the shock of color that comes from the gorgeous azalea and the trailing wisteria. The entire city itself is awash with beautiful wisteria in many different hues in early spring. Nara city is also an excellent base for exploring the area – nearby KatsuragiKodo has one of the most gorgeous azalea displays in Nara for example, or you can travel to the Murouji Rhododendron festival in May to enjoy its fabulous display of colors. Finally- and this is not to be missed – a trip along the Lotus Road will take you past three temples and allow you to view over 100 types of lotus flower, as well as the early morning opening of the water lilies.
