Funabashi Fiori Fiorista

Funabashi is found to the east of Tokyo and may not be a big tourist destination, but is an ideal place to head if you want to spend some time shopping. Funabashi is however a great base to explore the nearby area. Nearby Sumida is home to the Mukojima Hyakkaen Flower Gardens which offer a pleasant place to enjoy the falling cherry tree petals in the cherry blossom season Funabashi is also close to Meguro. Here it is recommended to explore the Meguro Sky Garden and take in some of the beautiful plants and flowers on display here. You can also take a walk along either bank of the Meguro River if you are lucky enough to be visiting in the spring - the cherry tree flowers that fall in this period cover the ground in a blanket of stunning pink petals. Funabashi also quite close to the area known as Shinagawa - a calm part of the wider Tokyo metropolis and a real gem for those that love flowers. Especially in the spring, Shinagawa bursts with colour as the cherry blossoms flower and fall to the ground. Amongst it all, locals will sit and picnic on a bento box sharing poetry and folklore. Finally, nearby Sakura is famous for being the meaning of the cherry blossom tree and is located in an area near to many flower related attractions. This includes the home of a fantastic cherry blossom flower festival at Mitaka-shi every year which lights up all of its trees at night and is simply spectacular, attracting both locals as well as visitors from neighbouring cities and into the regions beyond.
