Matsuzaka boasts some interesting ruins from its old castle, as well as a great museums and the beautiful Matsuzaka Temple. The castle grounds are a favourite cherry blossom viewing spot in the spring months, and are also blessed with gorgeous displays of wisteria as well. Those wishing to see flowers in Matsuzaka should head to the Agricultural Park and enjoy its’ beautiful formal English Gardens amongst other agricultural treats. Just a forty minute drive from Matsuzaka lies the city of Suzuka. Here, visitors will be delighted to find the beautiful Suzuka no Mori Garden, whose stunning displays of plum trees and their gorgeous blossoms are best viewed in the spring. During the plum blossom festival the trees are adorned with lights in the evenings, making a trip here an extra special experience. Join in with the locals as they enjoy some drinks and food under the trees and share poetry or simply chat as the night draws in. The nearby town of Tsu-shi is also a great place to explore, with Kazahaya-no-Sato Park hosting beautiful trailing wisteria and hydrangeas galore. There are also nearly 700 plum trees to be found in the park. Speaking of plum trees, the Yuki forest also boasts a fabulous collection of weeping plum trees and offer absolutely amazing photo opportunities.
